a reminder of the power of words
This was a thought I had while listening to Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds1, some of the songs he's written are nothing short of incredible. But it made me reflect on the power that lyrics can have and in turn the power that words as a whole can have over us, whether that's written or spoken.
They can inspire us, motivate us, move us into action or they can hurt, dismiss or cause untold pain. I never give much thought to the words I choose in my day to day life, but thinking about it now, this is to my own detriment.
Rather than being conscious of my word choices and how it impacts the people around me, I instead flitter through life without really considering the consequences of the words I choose to use with the people in my life.
I'd like to think of this being a reminder to start taking a more conscious action in the words I choose to use, whether it's through messaging, speaking or any other communication I have using words.
