Mind Over Matt(er)

doing the 'grown-up' things

It sounds a bit ridiculous to say that I'm now doing the 'grown up' things given that I'm 34 years old now, but I'm finally looking to buy my own place and it feels like I'm finally doing the 'adult' thing.

Every time that I've been 'ready' to start looking to buy, something has happened, whether it was lock-down back in 2020 or having to help my parents after illness, something has always stopped me but that is now over and I'm ready to finally take that step.

It finally feels like I'm truly building a life and being able to take that step towards proper independence.

Had my first house viewing today though so it truly feels like the show is on the road.

Although, I do feel like I've not been able to stop for the last week and a half, with Edinburgh fringe, social plans, getting to the gym and work, it has been non-stop.

I do intend to start slowing down a little at least, which will hopefully give me the chance to start blogging a bit more regularly, especially given that I've lot a lot of the momentum that I had built up.

So here's to buying a house, continuing to be an adult and to getting back into the writing groove.
